Real Looking Faux Boxwood Wreath

I always love having a wreath on our door, and some seasons I just get busy and don’t put one up. AND– who has the room to store different wreaths for every season of the year? This year when I took down my Christmas wreath my door felt so sad and empty, so I decided to invest in a faux boxwood wreath that I could switch out a few details and use it through the summer.
I decided to use some leftover red Christmas ribbon and I bought some paper heart cut-outs. You can find all of my supplies HERE.
The paper hearts listing said they were glossy, so I thought they had some sort of lamination on them. They don’t– they are just paper. But our front door is covered, so I’m hoping they will last through Valentine’s Day. If you don’t have a covered porch, these foam or finding some laminated ones might be a better option.
The faux boxwood wreath comes with the black & white check ribbon. Up close you definitely tell that it’s not real, but from a distance–especially from the road, it looks real. Instead of removing the black & white check ribbon I decided to hang the hearts down the middle of it. I simply hole punched into the paper hearts and hung them with the red ribbon. This took me 5 minutes to do, and I love the result.
The wreath comes in two sizes, and I bought the 23″ one so that you can really see it from the road. Up close you definitely teel that it’s fake, but from a distance it really looks nice. It has a vine wrapped back instead oh the cheapy ones that are plastic. That gives it a more realistic quality.
Watch me make my front door wreath:
There are so many things I can do with this wreath to give it longevity right through spring, Easter, and summer– then it will be time to pull out my fall wreath and put it back up on the door. 🙂
Happy Valentine’s Day!
